The Pot Of Gold

O SAGIE was always outside of the house every morning. It was a daily routine for him.He was six years old and not yet in school because his parents could not afford to send him to school. And end every morning ,while every other child went to school ,he sat at home and sometimes went to the farm with his poor parents. He long to be in school and he had friends who were in school and could no longer play with them because he was ashamed and tired of answering the same questions everyday from them when they play together.''why did your parents not send you to school?''And because of this ,he stopped going to play with them.but one friend refused to leave him alone.he brought some of his school books to teach Osagie.his name was Ayo .Osagie's parents were Mr and Mrs.Obaro Osagie.

''What are you staring at?'', said Mrs.Obaro, she had been standing there looking at her son for some time now.The Obaros had two children and none of them went to school.Osagie turned and faced his mother who had not gone to the farm because she was ill.

''Good morning ,mother'', said Osagie ''Good morning and why do you always trouble your heart with this every morning ?'', she asked her son referring to his daily act every morning.
''I want to go to school, mother. i dont want to end up being a farmer.i want to be educated like other children'',said Osagie. ''And I have told you so many time that if it is Gods will, you will go to school even though we are poor, you will go to school'',she told him.
''I  am tired of sitting down at home at my age not going to school while others are in school. And I can no longer play with them because they kept asking me the same question that I am ashamed to give them an answer to''said Osagie.

''Dont worry, I know how you feel and it hurts us because this was not the life that we planned for both of you''.

''I am not blaming you ,mother don't think I do, it's just that I can never be happy unless I go to school'',he told his mum and walked past her into the house. His mother felt hurt by his last words and she looked on to the heavens and prayed.
''Oh, my creator, when will you answer our prayer? Have we not prayed enough, when will you answer our prayer and take away this suffering? She said and went inside the house.

MR .Obaro had wondered why life had been so unfair to him. He was not a poor man neither was he born poor but he had lost everything when he was working with a construction company. He was looking for an investment and had fallen victim to them. There was nothing else he could do. He lost his business, job and could not afford to pay his house rent in Lagos. And worse still, they had to move back to the village. Osagie was just two years old when all these happened. And coming back to the village in Benin was a big regret. No one offered a helping hand to salvage his situation. Many of whom he had helped while he going was good for him and who turned his home into a solution ground all turned their back against him. No one came to welcome him or visited him twice, the news of his misfortune had got to the village before him. This was how he fell back to farming and at that it was not easy. The only thing that the extended family provided for him was the meagre land which he had been farming on for the past four years till date. And in this trying time, Sube their daughter was born. And the family cautioned him for bringing a child into the world to suffer in the condition that he was in. They reminded him of his situation and he had given them a reason for this but he had given them a reason for this but he took consolation in the fact that God would take care of his own children.

Tortoise And Elephant

Look at Tortoise. He is a small animal. He is slow. Other animals laugh at him. But he is wise.
,
This is Elephant. He is a big animal. Other animals fear his size. They respect him. But he is proud.
It is evening. Tortoise is coming from his farm .He has been working since morning. He is very tired.
Tortoise meets Elephant. He greets, Good evening, Elephant.'' But elephant does not reply. He keeps walking to his home.
Tortoise stops him. Good evening, Elephant, my friend, he says again. Elephant gets angry. A small animal like you shouldn't be greeting me, he trumpets. ''I'm sorry, Elephant.'' Tortoise begs. Let me be going home. I'm so tired from working on my farm.''
Tortoise sets off for home. But elephant puts his large legs on Tortoise's way.
''Stop, you're so foolish, Tortoise. If you're wise like me, you'll not be tired from working.''
Tortoise stops. He looks up at Elephant.
''Why is it that you're never tired?''
''It's because I'm wise to be so big,'' Elephant says.''It's small and foolish animals like you that get tired.'' Tortoise is angry. But he says, ''I'm sorry, Elephant. I want to be big like you. I'm so small. It's true. you're right. I'm a foolish animal.'' Elephant goes home. Tortoise also goes home. But heis not happy. ''Elephant is so proud and foolish,'' he says. ''I 'll show him tomorrow that I'm small, but wise.'' It is morning of the next day. Tortoise digs a big hole on his farm. Then he covers it with a mat. He smiles to himself.
''I'll show Elephant how foolish how he is. He'II soon learn never to be proud.'' Tortoise goes to Elephant's house. He begs, ''Please come to my farm. Wise    Elephant.''   ''Why?'' Elephant asks. ''There's a wonderful mat on my farm,'' Tortoise lies. ''But only the wisest animal can rest on it. I know you're never tired. But please come and rest on the mat for the wise.''
Elephant goes with Tortoise to his farm.
Elephant feels very proud. ''I'm the wisest animal, ''he says, ''Ishould rest on the mat for the wise.'' Elephant rests and falls into the big hole under the mat.
Tortoise laughs at Elephant. ''Size doesn't mean wisdom. I'm the one who's wise.''
Since that day, animals call Tortoise the wisest animal.

How My Wife Lied to Me That God Said I'm Her Husband

A troubled man who was obviously fed up with his wife's obnoxious acts has taken a proactive step to end his misery, as he could no longer trust his wife with anything.

The man, Tairu Jimoh on Wednesday approached the Igando Customary Court, Lagos, to annul his three-year-old marriage.

NAN reports that 56yrs old Jimoh said that his wife, Esther, with whom he had two children in their marriage had penchant for stealing.

“My wife steals my money on regular basis and because of her love for stealing, I no longer keep money at home. She stole my cooking gas and also my land documents,’’ he said.

The petitioner said that it was not his wish to marry his wife initially, adding that it was because she told him that God revealed to her that he was her husband.

My wife deceived me into marrying her, she told me that God revealed to her that I am her husband and I believed her,” the estranged husband said.

He said that Esther does not care for him.

“The last time my wife gave me food was 18-months ago, in spite that I regularly dropped money for food, I still buy food outside to eat.’’

He added that his wife always defamed his character by telling people that he killed their child and that he also stole his company’s money.

He prayed the court to dissolve the marriage that he does not love her anymore.

Wife reacts
Esther, 35, and a teacher, however, denied the allegations leveled against her by her husband.

She said, “My husband is a tight-fisted man, he keep money inside his cap and wear it and use broom to remove it whenever he wanted to buy something.

“How will I even steal the money I did not see? Tairu is an irresponsible husband and father, he starves me and the children of money, I am the one responsible for their feeding and school fees.

“Tairu gave me his land documents when he was still toasting me, I never stole it,” she said.

The added that, “When I was looking for an apartment, a church member directed me to my husband who is an estate agent. When I approached him, he started toasting me and later proposed, he told me that he wanted to delete poverty from my life and I accepted but he never did.

He was the one that went to my house to pack my load to his house and we started living as husband and wife, no introduction, no dowry was paid,” she said.

According to her, Tairu denied the paternity of her second child without a reasonable cause.

Funny enough, the woman urged the court not to grant her husband’s wish for dissolution that she was still in love with him.
The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola ordered both parties to attend the Alternative Resolution Dispute (ADR) with three of their family members.

He then adjourned the case until March 28, for further hearing.

The quest for a green card or a genuine love… he has started a lifetime journey. We wish him well.

Prophet T.B. Joshua, Please Don’t Go!

Temitope Balogun Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, is undeniably a global brand. His Emmanuel TV is watched by millions across the world. Joshua recently made headlines when he announced his intention to immigrate to Israel, adding that his ministry is the “most persecuted in the whole world”.

He had been on pilgrimage to Israel a few months earlier and met with the Mayor of Jerusalem and other prominent Israeli figures. It was after that visit that he threw his bombshell: “This is where my Father in Heaven came from – it’s non-negotiable”.
We understand that authorities in Tel Aviv have already allocated land and facilities to him in an area not far from the Sea of Galilee.

I first met T. B. Joshua sometimes in the year 2008. A friend who happened to be a senator asked me to accompany him to see the Prophet. To be transparently honest, I was sceptical. I went more out of curiosity than anything else. I had watched his performance on Emmanuel TV and thought the whole thing was, at best hocus-pocus, or worse unbridled shamanism.

My evangelical upbringing steeped in Anglicanism was more philosophy and theology than spirituality, if I must come clean. I always thought miracles and prophecies ended with the Age of the Apostles. You can therefore imagine how awkward our encounter must have been. Temitope Joshua does not talk theology. He lives and breathes the Word. He is worth more than a thousand pontifical prelates.

During our first meeting, what struck me was his humility, which St. Augustine of Hippo declared humility to be “the mark of Christ”. Another great attribute of his is loving-kindness. He is a profoundly loving and compassionate man. He had sent a driver and police escort to bring us to Ikotun where we were put up in his residential accommodation and well taken care of. We never paid him anything. He never talks about money, in contrast to so many devourer pastors who think nothing of fleecing widows of their meagre savings. Instead, he gives generously to the poor. After Sunday service, he gave us yet another driver and police escort to take us back to Ikeja Airport.

One late afternoon I received a call from the Prophet saying hello and asking after my father. I replied that Daddy was doing spritely well. He asked me to extend his greetings and to let him know that “it is well”. When I called home I was told father had just collapsed and being rushed to the hospital. He survived it. He passed away five years later in December 2014, age one hundred.

A prophet is not without honour safe in his own country. Prophet T. B. Joshua has suffered more persecution than most. He was once handcuffed and jailed on false accusations of being a drug dealer. Mainstream churches look askance at him, if not with envy. Many hate him bitterly. Some say he is an agent of the devil; others, that he gets his powers from a snake. Boko Haram agents were intercepted on several different occasions with bombs as they attempted to gain entry into the Synagogue.

Things reached their high water mark with the collapse of one of his buildings in September 2014 in which 115 people died, most of them South Africans. An inquest followed. Recently I made it a point to speak to the structural engineer of that inquest, who happened to be a brilliant professor with a doctorate from Imperial College London. He mumbled something about the pillars being “inadequate”. I asked if the mystery plane that hovered over the building minutes before its collapse provided any clues and if he could explain why the building came down in the fractal shape of a controlled demolition. Silence.

Remarkably, he never joins issues with his persecutors and traducers. He only preaches love and forgiveness. And he has a special love for Muslims – even for the Boko Haram agents who came with intent to wipe him out. Six out of every 10 foreign tourists in our country are bound for SCOAN. It’s a major contribution to inward capital flows. And when he ventures out to such countries as Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Colombia, Mexico and Peru he is received with the protocols reserved only for Visiting Heads of State. He has brought nothing but honour to our country.

To be fair, Nigeria has not been altogether ungracious to him. In 2008 late President Umaru Yar’Adua conferred on him the honour of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR); the pan-Yoruba media organisation Irohin-Odua voted him Yoruba Man of the Decade. He has also been listed among the 50 most influential people in Africa.

My studies in the philosophy of science have led me into the world of elementary particles, quantum gravity, parallel universes and black holes. Albert Einstein was wrong: God does play dice with the universe after all! The miracles performed by T. B. Joshua are too astonishing to be dismissed as mere gimmicks. Beelzebub cannot continue to cast out Beelzebub. It would be like squaring a cycle.

In a hundred years, future generations will be talking about the mighty deeds performed by this servant of the Lord. He has not only brought honour to our country; he has singlehandedly redeemed our image as a lawless, corrupt people.

Israel is a place of pilgrimage for Christians. But it is more anti-Christian than Christian. When the venerable Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri left his posthumous testament in January 2006 in which he claimed he saw the Messiah and that his name is Yehoshua, it sent shockwaves throughout Israel. There is a growing number of Messianic Jews; but many complain of discrimination. I love Eretz Israel, but I would be sorry to see T. B. Joshua go. The Israelis, ever an astute people, will do all it takes to bring him to their country, knowing what an asset he would be. Their gain will be our loss.
